CHRISTINE
Born and raised in Berlin, Christine (26) learned to love the city as well as the surrounding nature.
Christine is a creative person who is passionate about art, design and music. As an easy-going person, Christine likes to meet new people, but also enjoys having time for herself and relaxing with a bike ride or a good movie. She keeps in close contact with her family and enjoys spending time back home in Berlin. With indie music, herbal teas, yoga and her affection for picking flowers, she sometimes resembles a little hippy.
Christine feels the greatest freedom when traveling, exploring foreign places. There is hardly a country that doesn't interest her. Her organizational skills come in handy when planning trips. Before leaving school, she spent a year abroad in the USA and then moved alone from Berlin to Bonn to pursue a degree.
After graduating from high school, Christine completed a dual degree in business administration and has been working in the telecommunications industry ever since. When asked what she wanted to do after her studies, she came up with the idea of traveling the world. After all, even as a little girl, her biggest dream was to travel the world.
SVEN
Surrounded by nature, Sven (25) grew up in a village in Remagen and spent most of his childhood days running wild in the forest.
He is a bright and adventurous person who is enthusiastic about various topics. In his free time, he likes to play the guitar, listen to rock music, go running or do other outdoor sports. He loves spending time with other people, especially his family.
Sven's great passion is motorcycling. Nothing gives him such a feeling of freedom as taking one bend after another on the road and becoming one with his surroundings. He has also been riding trial motorcycles since his youth and has even taken part in competitions such as the German Youth Championships. About two years ago, he fulfilled his dream and bought a Honda Africa Twin, which he likes to ride after work or on adventure trips, e.g. to Corsica or Norway.
After graduating from high school, Sven also completed a dual degree in business administration and has since worked in the telecommunications industry. While Christine had always wanted to travel the world, Sven was a little skeptical at first. But after a short while, he also wanted to embark on a one-year adventure and the “ world tour” project could begin.
OUR WAY
We realized early on in our relationship that we shared a love of adventure. So we invested the majority of our time/money in shared experiences - whether traveling to Italy in a camper van, to Corsica on a motorcycle or to New York on a plane.
After seamlessly transitioning from high school, to dual studies, to a full-time job, we longed for a little “gap in our CV”. We started putting our money aside, applied for an unpaid leave of absence at work, spent our free time making travel preparations, gave up our apartment, sold half of our stuff and bought our first plane ticket.
